COVID Protocols for the the 2022/2023 School year can be found below:

Additional cleaning and protocols have been put in place to provide the safest environment possible for your children. Among the changes and precautions we are taking this school year, families can expect:

  • Exterior drop-off and pick-up only for 3's 4's and LAL is highly requested.

  • 18/24 month and 2's classes - interior drop-off and pick-up permitted at classroom door.

  • A high level of cleaning of toys and surfaces will continue.

  • Staff and children will not be required to wear masks but are welcome to if a preference.

The below guidelines can change during the school year based on new recommendations from Harris County Public Health Department, Texas Health and Human Services, Cornerstone UMC Preschool Board, or circumstances warranting a change to protect the staff and children enrolled in Cornerstone UMC Preschool as deemed necessary by the Executive Director of Cornerstone UMC Preschool.

  • Based on the most current recommendations from Harris County Public Health Department and Texas Health and Human Services any individual (staff or child enrolled in the program) that tests positive for COVID-19 must quarantine from work/school for a minimum of 5 full days.  After 5 full days, if the individual has been fever-free and symptom free for at least 24 hours without medication they can return to work/school.  An individual that lives with someone that has tested positive for COVID-19 should also quarantine for 5 full days and only return to work/school with a negative test on the 5th or subsequent days.

  • An individual may return to work/school during the Covid-19 5-day quarantine period without testing if a doctor’s note is presented to the Executive Director or Assistant Director of Cornerstone UMC Preschool.

  • All individuals that come in close contact (in the same class as the individual that test positive) with a COVID-19 positive case will be notified via email as soon as possible.  All families enrolled in Cornerstone UMC Preschool and staff of the preschool will be notified via email of a positive case within the building.  Information about the individual testing positive for COVID-19 will be kept confidential.

  • It is the intention of Cornerstone UMC Preschool to hold all classes without closure, unless required to close a class or the school based on a directive from the Harris County Public Health Department or Texas Health and Human Services.  All contagious transmittal illnesses are required to be reported to Harris County Public Health Department and Texas Health and Human Services within 24 hours of the preschool being notified.

  • It is the intention of Cornerstone UMC Preschool to have a Mask Optional Policy for all staff and students throughout the 22/23 school year.

  • COVID-19 Vaccines and Boosters are recommended but not required.

For the health and safety of all Cornerstone UMC Preschool staff and students, we continue to ask all persons to stay at home if any symptoms of contagious illness are present.
